hey guys! I was cleaning out my swag bag and decided to see just which of the Lacy coins I actually have. Which ones am I missing?

Here are some extras I will put in caches (or trade for one I need).

I refer to the wooden nickles as "The ORIGINAL Geocoin".

I have four Allens and three Roberts, and none of them have dates on them. I guess they're older than dirt. Wink

You are missing the Allen Lacy coin with the buffalo on one side.

I'm missing:
Allen - 2002, 2005 and 2006
Robert - 2002, 2005 and 2006

At this time, I only have an extra 2004 Robert available.

The no-dated ones are 2001 and Allen has at least 2 different versions for 2001 Wink

Allens' Buffalo nickel?
Are the 2002 tokens stamped with the year? I have never seen one of those.
What is the difference in Allens' 2001 versions?

It would be nice if one of the Lacy's would comment... but they are probably having too much fun lurking right now. Ghost

Ok, I dug them out of my siggy item storage case for you Phat.

Allen's with the buffalo on the one side is his 1st wooden nickle. It has his name printed too and says "have gps, will travel" on it. The second for 2001 is when they first used the geodude on one side and "the lacy family" with siggy on the other (it's the one you have with no year).

Since Johnnie's 2002 is stamped with the year and the 3 of them order their nickles together in a bulk order, I am assuming both Roberts and Allens are also stamped with "2002." Since I don't own them yet, I can only speculate.

From 2001, it looks like I have two of Johnnie's first editions, one of Johnnie's second editions, one of Allen's second editions and two of Robert's second editions. I have a 2003 Johnnie coin too, but the 2003 is handwritten and not stamped (more valuable?). I may have more around somewhere, but I think I found them all recently. I've seen more in caches but have left them for others. I never thought about trying to get a complete set. Bummer.

Here are some rare ones.

Note Robert and I don't have any with the date 2002 on them, we didn't start dating them until 2003.

Huh, I hadn't noticed until I looked at my Stats banner, but I just crossed 2000.

OK ... here's my offer. I'd like an original Allen Wooden Nickel to (almost) complete my collection. If anyone has one, these are the Lacy coins I'll trade for it:
2002 Allen (date unstamped)
2002 Robert (date unstamped)
2003 Allen
2003 Robert
2004 Robert
2006 Johnnie
This would make a GREAT starter set!!!
Pleeze!

I don't have an extra Phat, but I'll pay attention as I cache to see if I can get one.

On that note at the most recent Wanna Go, Robert and Allen hooked me up with the final 2005 Nickels I needed to finish my set (to date) Smile

Time to sweeten the pot.
I'll throw in a custom painted, autographed VooDoo Doll ... AND ... the complete set (4) of the Olympic pins mentioned in the 'Steals and Deals' thread.

Who out there even HAS one?

well i went and hauled out my secret box where i keep all my most valuable possessions like the lacy coins to see what i had in case i could help phat.bak out.

i have no extra allen coins but turns out i do have two extra johnnie lacy coins with the indian head on one side and bicyclist on tour etc. printing on the other side. so if someone is looking for one of those and wants to trade let me know.

all the lacy wooden nickles i have i found in caches and most of them required a great deal of effort to reach Smile i have never been able to find a robert wooden nickel coin in a cache and i do not own any.

Here is as complete a collection of the Lacy coins that is available (outside of being an actual Lacy). Notice that the background is a one-of-a-kind autographed Lacy Fall Campout T-shirt. I got it this past weekend, and passed up some good swag from Bubba and Big Mamma's prize table to get it. It was tempting, but I knew what I wanted from the get-go.
I have abandoned my quest for an original Allen wodden nickel. Maybe one day someone will decide to get rid of theirs. Maybe not.
I am now in my Happy Place. Oink!
