I was out caching yesterday and at one cache I got so fascinated watching the dragon flies that I ran out of time and never found the cache.

Great picture. Here is the probable biology ID:
Kingdom - Animalia Phylum - Arthropoda Class - Insecta Order - Odonata Family - Aeshnidae Genus - Anax Species - junius It is probably a Green Darner although it could be a Blue Darner (Aeshna verticalis). Really a wonderful photo. |

Excellent Dragon Fly macro shots Laura.
They held still, you held still, TIME held still. The stuff 'DragonFlyDreams' are made of. Oh did I say that out loud? Don't say you can't, say you'll try. |

Wow, that is awesome. With my luck, I usually get a great shot of the water with a fuzzy dragonfly in the foreground!

Took a picture of a dragonfly on the way to Tie One On is Back in Business!
Didn't realize that the pic sucked until I downloaded it. Auto-zoom grabbed the branch (closer) instead of the dragonfly. |
