For past 3 years Robert and I have went there on a Wednesday to ride our bikes around the loop. Johnnie has went on two of these trips. We go on Wednesday because from sunrise to 10AM they only allow bicycles and hikers. It is really nice to be on the road without worrying about cars.

This is from last year's trip.

Here are a couple of cove pictures of something that you will rarely if ever see from a car.

This is part of the reason we go on Wednesdays.

Great pix! I especially like the one of the deer in the fog. Cades Cove is a precious place where one can step back in time and escape some of the hurry-scurry we all suffer from on a day-to-day basis -- at least I do anyway. As a cemetery connessier, I really like the little cemetery there. A peek into the past -- and how sorrowful it was in the age before sulfa and antibiotics. Thanks for sharing the pix.

The first year we biked we stopped at all the house/log cabins the three churches and their cemeteries.

One especially interesting to me is in the primitive Baptist Church cemetery, one headstone reads simply "Bas Shaw - Killed by Rebels."
