I just love living in a small town. Locust Grove provides many services to it's residents. City water, gas, trash pickup, etc. They operate a rubbish drop off place where residents can get rid of just about anything at no charge.

The hours of operation have been, on Wednesdays, from 12pm (noon) to 5pm. They recently changed that to open at 8am. An increase in service, whadoyaknow? To reflect that change, they changed the sign at the entrance to the rubbish center. I wonder how they'll figure the overtime for the workers?

Sigh, no. I stopped by the cemetery AGAIN today on the way home from Wanna Go. The cemetery manager was there and I got to show him what the GPS looked like (borrowed one) and give him a business card in case he comes across it. Also talked with the grounds maintenance crew (Local jail trustees and their guard.). With luck, prayer and the earth tilting slightly on its axis, I might get it back.

In the mean time, Rebel let me have a loaner so I wouldn't go into convulsions or something with gpsr withdrawal.

I'm trying to come up with $ for a replacement GPSr, but ........well, I'm a school teacher.....not a stock broker. I had bought a used gpsr off e-bay and it was AWFUL. I've decided that I'd rather put my $ into buying something new, than a crumby something old. So....we'll see what happens over the next while. I honestly don't see a new gps in the budget. But, maybe the earth will tilt slightly and someone will find my other one. Just another day living in gps limbo.

Thanks for thinking good thoughts though.

I guess storing the taters in the tailpipe for transport to the event was not the best idea. Big Grin

Your caches may be in jeapordy of being logged if you see this vehicle (or one with the same sign) in the neighborhood. Big Grin

Actually, I've found that it cuts down the muggle-interest factor considerably as it is assumed you're there to work, not play.

If you wear khaki pants, shirt and hat and carry a clipboard I bet that you could get away with just about anything short of murder.

"Excuse me Mam, I am with the Henry County Cache Recovery Team. There has been a report of an unfound geocache in this park. I am afraid that I will have to ask you and your children to leave the area. Oh and you should leave that picnic basket too. Never know if that fried chicken may have been tainted being sooooo close to a geocache. Can't be too careful."

Oh yeah. A person could have a lot of fun with just the right amount of attitude and the correct "uniform".

The little county just south of Henry has a new cleanup campaign slogan. They have posted signs all over the county as they are a proud bunch!

I think, and this is just me, that they may want to rethink their slogan.

An acquaintance of mine sent me this picture of an Arkansas road sign.

Don’t know if it is real, and if it is if the highway department put it up. But I like it.
