Cache Appeal![]() ![]() |
A couple of years ago we bought an inexpensive "hands-free" set for our family radios. The setup had a holder for the radio that could be attached to an armband so the radio could be worn on the upper arm. The holder also has a belt clip.
I immediately claimed that set as mine when I got my Rino, but of course I didn't need the arm band... that is until now. I put the armband on the handle bar of my bike and VOILA! I have a bike mount for my GPS! [This message was edited by Penny & Chaos on March 23, 2003 at 09:32 AM.] |

. . . without a cache. |
Hey, that's pretty slick! I didn't see a spring or shock absorber on the front fork. You might want to stuff some foam insulation between the GPSr and the stem to soften the bumps.
Great idea! See ya on the hunt! |

Are you telling me that the trails up there are bumpy? Seriously, I hadn't thought about the bumps. It'll be easy to put some foam between the arm band & the handle bar. Thanks for the suggestion! Garmin has specially designed clamps, so I do this as well. When I rode the BRAG in 2001, it worked like a champ, although some of the gravelly roads wreaked havoc on the battery spring connections. Just watch out for particularly jarring bumps, like railroad tracks and potholes.
