Personally I think the resolution of a PDA screen makes a poor photo viewer. In addition to storing the cache page, my Zire 71 also serves to take photos at caches. The notepad is good for writing down clues on multis, while the calculator is also good for when you need to compute coords. I also have a Palm program that computes projections, something needed for some puzzles and which is easier to use than my GPSr.

I have a Palm T5 which I use for paperless caching using cachemate. As far as a picture viewer, I find the resolution & quality quite good. The T/X would be in the same category...the price may be a bit steep on these units for just using it for a cache device & photo album..... Jeff

If it's just for paperless caching, the occasional picture, and whatnot, a memory card may not be needed. I only have 32MB (28.8 usable) of RAM in my Tungsten E, yet have the following loaded, in addition to the "default/stock" applications:
- Documents To Go Viewer, to view a sync'd Excel spreadsheet of my puzzle solves - Two additional calculators for doing puzzle calculations and projections - Delorme StreetAtlas Handheld 2007, with maps loaded of Cobb, N. Fulton, Allatoona, north Dekalb and a piece of Gwinnett - Cachemate with 2200+ caches loaded with up to 20 logs each. - Sudoku app, just for fun (though it does eat the battery when it generates a new puzzle)
And I still have 11.7MB of memory free..

The best bet would be the Palm Tungsten E2. This gives you a good screen resolution (320x320) versus the 160x160 n the Zire 22. IT makes a world of difference when looking at graphics. Other advantages to the E2 are it has an expansion slot for more memory (via an SD card) and it has built in bluetooth. This way f you cell phone is bluetooth compatible, you could surf the web using you palm through your phone (ever wanted to lookup a cache while you are in the field???) You can find these at the Palm Factory outlet for $147 (http://store.palm.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=1179667) with the holiday season rolling in and the Frys about to open in Alpharetta, you might also find a good deal on one locally. If you can find a good price on a Tungsten E model, that is also has the same screen resolution, but no bluetooth. Jeff
