I don't normally make this sort of request but desperate times and all that.
Please keep my nephew's sister Amanda in your prayers. She was involved in a serious car accident yesterday. She was life flighted to Erlanger in Tennessee where she underwent immediate surgery to remove her spleen. She has bleeding on the brain and is currently in a coma. She is 17 years old and a really good kid. My nephew is taking it really hard and so is his currently pregnant wife. Please keep them all in your prayers.
Nephew got the call at dinner that she has started to respond to voices. She also was making an attempt to talk but was unable due to both sedation and the breathing tube. The doctor told the family not to get too excited that at this point things could always change but that it was good she was starting to respond.
Thanks again for the prayers. She really is a good kid and so is my nephew and this is tearing him up.
The request has been made. I've included your original thread and the update...which was good to read. I'll forward the e-mail I receive when the community is notified. Give them our prayers and concerns. Keep the Faith.
Okay, I have fallen down on the job of posting updates. Through November and December she had ups and downs and a few times that we didn't think she would make it but December 26, she was moved to Shepherd's in Atlanta. She has been undergoing therapy and rehab. She is making great strides in her therapy and has finally started talking. Her mind is very clear and shows no residual effects. She also remembers everything about the accident.
Thank you to everyone who kept her in your prayers.
