When I was a kid, the 'Aints were so bad I remember you could get a pair of free tickets if you mailed in the blue sticker from a bunch of Chiquita bananas. I wonder how many bananas you'd have to buy now for Superbowl tickets.

I wish I could. I am not checking baggage, and the last time I brought it on my carry-on, I spent some time in the private security room explaining to 'Bubba TSA' why I had 6 bricks, wrapped in aluminum foil in my backpack. Almost missed my flight.
I am going to try to make a short weekend drive trip down/over there this summer. I can bring stuff back then.

Speaking of Cajun Cooking - if I could only eat at one restaurant in NOLA which restaurant would you recommend for me? Please, no 5 star prices!

Now that I am back and my head has cleared (somewhat) from Mardi Gras, I'll say this about recommending only ONE eatery in NOLA.
It's not possible.
The diversity and possibilities for good eats is endless. A list can be shortened, tho. If you throw out the high-end eateries such as Brennan's, K-Paul's, Antoine's, Galatoire's, and Arnauds, there are literally over a thousand places to eat. Here is a very short list of four that I have been to and like.
Ralph & Kacoo's Seafood Atchafalya recommended
Drago's - legendary charbroiled oysters
Felix's - just a good old oyster bar. Have been here MANY times for a 'couple dozen on the half'
Mother's - Great Roast Beef or Soft Shelled Crab PoBoys! (I LOVE SS Crabs!)
I have never been to Tujaques, but it is very high on my list to try next time I'm in town. Not sure of its prices, but it comes highly recommended by family members.

Mouth watering, yet?

Laissez les bon temps rouler!

Oh my mouth is definitely watering now. Mother's was on our short list, too. Drago's charbroiled oysters may override Mother's tho! Hey, what is seafood atchafalya? Something hot and spicy??

Thanks phat Smile
