This is a link for a video taken of a night attack on Al Qaeda in Afghanistan from a US C-130A gunship engaging real targets, including persons. There's probably better military technology around that we're not permitted to see, but this is awesome!.

If you think you may be offended, do not click this link.

I heard Neal Bortz talking about this video earlier today. Pretty scary what we can do from thousands of feet away.

You have to have the right plug-in. Media Player or RealMedia or something like that. Then it takes a minute or so to download even with a DSL connection. I played it twice - the first time it got choppy and broke up near the end, the second time it worked ok.

It is sort of like the Harrison Ford/Tom Clancy film (Sum of All Fears?) that shows the attack on a terrorist training camp captured from a satellite. You see vehicles and individuals fleeing, then hunted down and blown up. Scary stuff.

I bet too many people hit the site and overloaded it or used up it's bandwidth. But I found it before Brad posted the link and downloaded it so it would run without skips. I think I left a copy on my PC, if so I could burn it to a CD and bring it Sat (provided the snow isn't too deep).

Bring it on Allen. I remember seeing some clips of the C-130 ripping up Afghanistan, but this one sounds more intense. I will have my PC with me tomorrow at breakfast.

I forget to look at the footage back at the meeting and the link above still isn't working. Does anyone know where I can get this file? I've got some ex-military folks at the office who would also like to view the tape.

TIA,

tjb

I tell you what Allen. If you'll try to get that done I'll do my best to get there after you and pick up the CD. I'll have to hunt around to find an appropriate item to trade it out for, though. If I don't make it, or if someone beats me to it, I'll ask you to email me a copy. How's that?

Thanks!
