A few folks have indicated an interest in playing golf at "The Creek at Hard Labor" either sometime Friday or on Saturday morning before the August GGA Meeting at Hard Labor Creek State Park.
If enough people want to play, we could set up some tee times and foursomes. So, post your interests. Friday is cheaper (see link above), but Saturday is easier for most of us.
Let's hear from all you wannabe Tigers!

Saturday would work for me. I need to see if I can find a golfball with a built in GPS and transmitter so I can find my ball when I hit it into the woods.

I'll have to check and see if I can make it for Saturday. I'm supposed to be in La, again, on that date. Will have to see if I can weasel out of it. I'm ALWAYS looking for a game of golf. FORE!!!
The schoolteacher was taking her first golfing lesson.
"Is the word spelt p-u-t or p-u-t-t?'' she asked the instructor.
"P-u-t-t is correct,'' he replied.
"Put means to place a thing where you want it. Putt means merely a vain attempt to do the same thing."

While I have been spending my golfing days geocaching lately, I would be interested in a Saturday morning round if schedule allows me to make it that weekend. I'll know more as the time arrives.

Keep the golf game in the front of your minds, folks. Plenty of room if you plan early! I will be making a tee time reservation for Saturday morning early (9:00-ish). So far it is me, Trez003, Mtn-man and maybe KVOM. We can form any number of foursomes, or whatever-somes.

DANG! It looks like I'll be back in La at that time. I really wanted to participate, too. Maybe we can hook up with a foursome at another time??? They don't call me 'WoodChopper' for nuthin'.
Ya'll better watch TMan! Golfing with an older man A young man who was also an avid golfer found himself with a few hours to spare one afternoon. He figured if he hurried and played very fast, he could get in nine holes before he had to head home. Just as he was about to tee off an old gentleman shuffled onto the tee and asked if he could accompany the young man as he was golfing alone. Not being able to say no, he allowed the old gent to join him.
To his surprise the old man played fairly quickly. He didn't hit the ball far, but plodded along consistently and didn't waste much time. Finally, they reached the 9th fairway and the young man found himself with a tough shot. There was a large pine tree right in front of his ball - and directly between his ball and the green.
After several minutes of debating how to hit the shot the old man finally said, "You know, when I was your age I'd hit the ball right over that tree."
With that challenge placed before him, the youngster swung hard, hit the ball up, right smack into the top of the tree trunk and it thudded back on the ground not a foot from where it had originally lay.
The old man offered one more comment, "Of course, when I was your age that pine tree was only three feet tall."

About two children ago I was a pretty regular golfer (nothing special, mostly I was a mid nineties kind of golfer). But I played Hard Labor Creek several times (it was cheap to play there). I was surprised at just how pretty of a course it was. What is even more shocking is that it is (or atleast it was) run by the State of Georgia. There is one added difficulty factor at HLC . . . the moving targets on four hoofes. Since HLC is on a State park that doesn't allow hunting the deer have learned that they can hide out there. We sometimes had to run off the deer ahead of us in order to take a shot. One time this doe had her fawns grazing so close that I got within about six inches of petting one of the fawns. And when they moved it was only about six feet further away.
Have fun!
