This is kinda geocaching but not directly. It looks like the FS is wanting to reduce the impact of visitors to the Jacks River area of the Cohutta. From the ajc I can understand why. Here is the FS web page about the changes, including reducing the number of campers, camp fires and no alcohol.

It sad that they feel it necessary to place restrictions like that, but it is understandable. I hope it doesn't impact our sport excessively.

I'll have to print out the proposal and study it. I first visited Jack's River in November of '75 and it's a very special area to me. Indeed, I trace my life long interest in the outdoors to one particular moment on that trip. I've revisted the falls over the years and have witnessed the rape of that area's natural flora. It's been extensive. Thanks for passing along the info, Allen. I'll be sure to write the director with my feedback.

The email address down at the bottom is my Ranger friend up in the Cohutta. I have been meaning to talk to him about Geocaches, but have been afraid of ruining it for the few people that have caches up there. It may be time.
