A product for when your spouse says "We never do anything together." But I would have to have the version that comes with a seven inch LCD television and iPod docking station.

I truly believe in conserving water...

But not to that extent.

Sorry but Library time is private time.

Yep, modern people tend to be a little more private than our ancestors. I remember seeing the Brick Outhouse at the Antebellum Plantation area of Georgia's Stone Mountain State Park and thinking they were friendlier back then. Then seeing tv shows about roman public latrines they were even more friendly.

Years ago, I read a science fiction novel, "The Mote in God's Eye". The theme was our first encounter with aliens. The "moties", the best I remember, took on nourishment in private in rooms much like our toilets, but eliminated waste in very elaborate ceremonies. Great halls had been set up for formal waste eliminations. Just imagine going to the White House because you had been invited to a big state "c..."!
Heh! Heh!

I read that book years ago and enjoyed it. But I didn't remember that. So I dug around until I found the book. You definitely have confused it with some other book. The moties had no need/desire for privacy, neither for the taking nourishment nor the disposal of the remains of said nourishment or anything else. But there was no ceremony for either.

You know Allen, I'm sure you are right. I was reading a lot of scifi at that time and I could have confused it with another novel. That particular book was outstanding and I guess the title just popped up. I could have dreamed the whole thing up myself. It is a fairly strange concept and I wish I were industrious enough to try writing a novel. Too darn lazy and laid back now. Seems like there was some kind of big deal with coffee in "Mote"?

The space navy like our sea navy liked coffee, and the trader used his expensive coffee to get on their good side. The moties didn't like coffee but did like to drink hot chocolate with a drop of machine oil for extra flavor.

Of course having a multi-hole outhouse allows for customization

Back when SNL was funny, one of the things I really liked was the commercial parodies. They would "advertise" something so silly everyone would realize no one would every make the product. I remember one for "Trac 3" razors. Of course now that actual make and sell razors with 3 or even more blades. Then there is this product that no one would ever make.
