Just remember that children have no legal right to privacy from their parents.
Big brother is problem, but Big Mom & Dad is fine with me. Now here in the small town of Toccoa, we didn't need any high tech monitoring device, if our kids did anything questionable, someone would tell my wife. Remember MCAW (Mothers Conspiracy Across the World) is real, i.e. mothers tell other mothers. |

We need more "snooping" parents. In my line of work the only kids I have contact with are the ones whose parents exercise no control and expect the justice system to raise them (we can't). I hope the price comes down so that more parents will install the units and maybe insurance companies will offer discounts to monitored teen drivers.
(Jess steps down off his soap box). That said, most of us have looked down at the GPSR while driving and noticed it claimed we were driving 1,347 mph. Poor teenage drivers. Just try to explain that one to mom and dad! tjb |

This type of technology is why I got into Geocaching to begin with -- tracking the movement of trucks we work with. The prices have been coming down from the original $1,400 to $1,800 (or more for more features) cost I used to see. It saves the trucking company money because the drivers have to do their routes instead of taking detours and going for donuts and coffee and killing company time. The units almost pay for themselves.

What stuck in my mind is a 16 year old with a 2002
Beemer that is allowed to go up to 79 MPH before her Daddy finds out. If I had even had a car when I was 16 it would have most likely been 10 years old and would only do 79 MPH in my dreams. |

Hmm, I was dreaming of other things when I was 16.
Jess (sorry, just couldn't pass that one up) |

It just hits me wrong. That just might be me, though.
My dad used to pull the coil wire from my Fiat when he wanted to ground me from using the car I paid for and paid insurance on. I just kept a supply of replacement coil wires, plugged one in and went. Any parent who buys a new beemer for their kid is setting the kid up for a real big let down when the kid gets out on his/her own, has to pay rent, insurance, maintenance, etc. Not a good idea. Oh, while I'm at it, "Hello, Mr. Ashcroft! Having a nice day?" See ya on the hunt! |

I have always heard that if you want to apply for a job with the NSA, just call anyone and say "I would like to work for the NSA".
