The boss has told us that he intends to take the whole shop (10 of us including him) to a fancy restaurant as a Christmas present this year.

This is one of the first restaurants that he mentioned:
Blue Pointe

Please have a look at the dinner menu and tell me, short of the Sushi & Steaks, does anyone really eat this stuff!!??!!

I got a kinda queasy stomach just reading the menu. And I've even eaten 'Possum & Rattlesnake!

Spiced Skate Wing? Aw Nuts!
Mixed Baby Beets with Goat Cheese & Glazed Pecans??? Aw Nuts!
Tangerine Roasted Pork Loin?? Help

If this is how the wealthy eat, THANK GOD I'm not rich!! Disgust

Has anyone eaten here?
And is it really all that good?

Well the menu does have steaks and there is baked potato and garlic mashed potatoes.

I've never ate there so I can't vouch for it.

I think this is what's known as "fusion cooking" - combining elements of asian and occidental cuisine into dishes that accidentally taste good.

Skate wing tastes just like scallops.

Goat cheese s great - not crazy about beets but that's me.

Pork loin? eat it twice a week.

My kids turn up their noses at things they've never tried; I suggest that as adults sampling things that don't seem appetizing on the surface may prove to be exciting adventures.

One of the best meals I've had was BBQ Stingray and Wok Bok Choy in Singapore.

I checked out the menu. All I can say is: "YUM!!!!!"

I'd eat anything on it - it all sounds awesome. I also agree with KVOM, skate wing has a very similiar texture and taste to scallops. I've only had it once, but I liked it.

If you like seafood, chinese food, thai food, and indian food, then you should like this joint. (Not sure if the curried dishes will be more thai or more indian in nature). I've never eaten there, but I've heard good things about it.

There is not one bad restaurant among the Buckhead Group as I have eaten at them all. Still my favorite of their restaurants is Pano's and Paul but you can not go wrong with any of them.
P.S. Be happy to take your place at the table signal gets popcorn

It's a matter of degrees

Hmmm... Roll Eyes Scallops, you say. Confused

I love scallops, so I may just try it. Smile

Shoot! I ought to love this place then!
Cause that's just about how I cook.
I'll get in the kitchen and through everything but the sink in.
My wife says I ought to be a chef because I come at creative foods naturally.

I once started making fudge cookies without a recipe and got the batter to runny, so I just tossed in a couple more eggs, a pour of milk, a small box of instant chocolate pudding, & some oatmeal and poured it into a cake pan.
She tells me that there was really no way it should have ever turned out.
But it did! And pretty as all get out!
And it actually tasted good! Laughing

Don't ever ask me to make it again, but I can tell you about it. We call it my "Nuclear Cake" story! Tounge

Not to brag, but... I "do" make some of the most awesome Baked Potato soup there is, using Baked Potatoes, Sour Cream, Fried Bacon (homemade bacon bits), Shredded Sharp Chedddar, Onion, 2 packs of prepared Country Gravy Mix, and Whole Milk (to thin it down)

Mmmmmmm!!! Mmmmmmm!!!
