Wow. what a rush the last couple weeks have been.
After 3 years, I got laid off from the company I had been working for. (Not enough software development projects in the area.) And now, 2 weeks later, I just received an offer (starting tomorrow) making more than I had been. After hearing other stories about the job market in Atlanta right now, I'm thoroughly amazed. Congratulations! Surviving and thriving after a RIF is unusually tough on the stomach lining. Hope you'll find a "home" where you can be happy and find some job security.

Congrats, tyrithe on your quick job replacement. That is great.
In the last year+, I watched my hours at my old job go down to 2 days per week and all benefits diseappear. I finally got 2 part time jobs to make ends meet, then took another full time job and was working 7 days per week. I'm sure most of you have heard me b**ch about it for the last year, since it seriously cut down om my cachin' time. I have just put my notice in at my Ag Center weekend job. Sometimes it ain't about the money. I've now got my full time job - 5 days/week/M-F; more time with my family and more time for cachin'. Life is good. |
