It's not the kill......It's the thrill of the hunt.

All I can say is make sure that your vent caps on your roof have a mesh screen over them. My mom's didn't and she had a king snake come in through her commode. She now keeps a toilet brush wedged in the hole until she needs to use it just to make sure. It does make going to the bathroom at her house interesting. She has one of the greatest fears of snakes of anyone I've ever met. I have a great fear of them and now of using her bathroom. Her snake went back out the same way it came in except with a bit of a headache where she hit it on the head with the toilet lid.

It is good to have them over vents for heating/ac too. When we lived in Woodstock, a bunch of chimney sweeps (birds) flew into the fresh air intake vent and could not climb back out. They died and I spent days looking for what smelled in the basement without success until winter-time. Then our gas heat would not come on since it requires some sort of vacuum valve to open by a squirrel cage spinning in fresh air. The birds had clogged it up and it would not pull in enough air. My landlord came and figured out what had happened and cleaned them out. We put a screen over the vent on the roof the next weekend. Kenneth

When I saw that story on TV about the water moc down in Jax, I wondered how it got to be there. I think Orpheus answered that question. A lot of the houses down there are ranches, with trees overhanging the roof ... it could happen ... it did!
