I recently accepted the challenge of walking in the American Diabetes Association's America's Walk for Diabetes fund-raising event. I am taking part in this event because I believe in and support the Association's mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

I don't have diabetes, but several women in my close family do (or did). They were all diagnosed in their later years (60+).
So as I am getting older, I'm watching what I eat and crossing my fingers that it is not inevitable that I'll get it too.
I've been soliciting sponsors for 1 week and have $250 in pledges so far. (Two of the local geocachers were very generous!)
But even a couple of dollars helps. Lots of small donations all add up.
