Chili doesn't have beans. Then again, I WAS born in Texas where beans 'n chili don't mix.

Being from south Looziana, beans went with rice.
Never had beans in chili until I bought some in a can. What a surprise.

And I was raised to think that chili is kinda like Gumbo ... what evers ya got in da kitchen or can scrape off de road out front of yor house goes in da pot.
