In today's news:

quote:
BOSTON - With the state facing a $3 billion deficit, Massachusetts lawmakers are considering selling corporate sponsors the naming rights to parks and forests, including the Walden Woods immortalized by Henry David Thoreau.

Got me to thinking of what we could do here in Georgia. Let's put our head together and come up with new names! I'll start it off:

Fort Yargo State Park = RC & Moon Pie Dental Floss Park

(Yeah, I know that's lame . . .)

See ya on the hunt!

Some parks would seem to invite corporate sponsorship.

Red Top Mountain is an obvious choice for Red Roof Inn.

Consider General Coffee State Park near Nicholls. One would think that the likes of Maxwell House and Folgers would be all over each other to get to it. Similarly, Hamburg State Park (near Mitchell) would be fought over by McDonalds and Burger King.

Does anyone have any thoughts on these:
Mistletoe State Park (near Appling)
Skidaway Island State Park
Travellers Rest Historic Site (near Toccoa)

If war protesters don't believe in violence what would they do if we punched them in the nose?
