Well, I've gone and done it...

JenSedai and I have gotten a new house in the Ball Ground area. Sometime soon, we're gonna have to hold a party up there... Maybe we'll even host a caching event up there. Who knows. Anyway, just thought I'd say something about why I've been awol, assuming anyone wondered...

Sounds like something Crocodile Dundee would offer up for dinner!

Isn't that a tiny bit of a commute? I am happy you folks are happy, but I'm thinking I wouldn't like the drive to work -- unless you get to telecommute regularly.

Congratulations on the new digs.

Congrats on the new house! Heck of a drive though. Then again, TeamHappySpider commuted daily from Rome to Marietta...

Pretty up there, for sure!

Alright! I told you there was going to be a Housewarming party, well, now there will be. Unfortunately, there are two things which break my ability to place an event there:

1. There will be people other than cachers present. Before the housewarming party itself will be a party for my stepson's fifth birthday. Further, on the housewarming party itself, there will be people from all over. Since it's not just geocachers, I can't hold an event.

2. The party is this coming weekend. Unfortunately, it seems that I wasn't made aware that Jen was planning on trying to hold the party this weekend. That being said, the coordinates for the house are as follows, for anyone who wishes to come:

N 34 16.532
W084 18.362

For anyone interested in coming, if you run into trouble, please feel free to call me at 770-773-0356(my cell) or 770-889-7893(home).

I may even be posting a cache there... Gecko gets a Home

In the interest of not confounding my neighbors when they answer the door wondering who all these people are who are running around with GPSr's, my house is number 204.

So if I show up at 6am, I'll be greeted warmly? (and I don't mean chased off with a torch...)

I am pretty sure I know exactly where that is. When I visit my parents in Acworth, I come down 369.

So are we all supposed to show up at 6am? Sneaky
I can just hear it now ... 'Honey, there is a large group of crazy people out there banging on our door ..... make them go away'
And then we'll hear .... 'Yes, Dear...'

Been there, Done that ...

No, you cannot show up at 6 AM and be greeted warmly. Well, you MIGHT be greeted warmly, but I suspect that it would not be the warm that you'd want. ;-) Seriously though, for those who wish to come on out, I would recommend 2-3 PM as a good time to arrive. We are planning on cooking out and generally having a good time. We'll have to see about what we're cooking. Although if a certain pig decided to show up at 6 AM, I'm fairly sure we would have BBQ pork sandwiches available Cool

Seriously, though... The birthday party thing has been scrapped, so anytime after noon will probably be fine. I would tend to recommend 2-3 as the earliest arrival, though, for most.

Phat bak on a spit. Now that picture would certainly go onto the cover of the 2007 calendar. Just not sure when to snap the picture. Jowls (and apple) facing forward or ham forward. Hehehe

Now I do know for sure the Gecko can give directions to Two Brothers BBQ from his place. For anyone who can't survive without gooooood GA BBQ, fries and brunswick stew while in the area.

I also feel fairly certain that any critter showing up at 6am, any morning, may just want to prepare for meat tenderizerizing via the rock salt express. Might be wrong though. I think I remember something about his needing to test a "fixing to grill em" load of rock salt and pepper corns.

Well, either way, even the Moose and Minnie Moose know enough to not to show up before NOON. Grilled Moose will not be on the menu thank you very much. Now I can't speak for wild boar but I'd like to remind Phat Bak that when the chicken and pig were discussing breakfast the terms involvement and committment were discussed. The Gecko does enjoy salt and peppered BACON with his eggs when he does get up early though. I think there are some clues there for caching times but this may not be a puzzle cache either. You decide.

Gah! I can't edit these things?

Ok... At the request of my wife, she would rather people started showing up no earlier than three, probably 4 or 5, since we are planning on grilling out for dinner. We're looking at something like Bratwurst or perhaps hamburgers for eats. The event WILL be a kid-friendly event, as at least one couple there will be bringing their four kids, spread in ages from 3 to 14, and Jen and I obviously will have Patrick. Hopefully this will be the last change.
