A friend of mine is coming into town at the end of July and he was interested in shooting a few clay pigeons. I did a little research and found a place near Adairsville, GA at Barnsely Gardens Resort that does Sporting Clays.

Just curious if anyone in our group has ever been there and shot any clays? If so, I was wondering what you thought of the place? Is it nice? Is it worth the money?

Thanks!

P.S.
If you have any recommendations for other places to shoot, I would appreciate hearing about them.

Another place is Tom Lowe Shooting Grounds, formerly Wolf Creek Olympic Shooting Range. They are off of Camp Creek Parkway between I-285 and Fulton Industrial Blvd.

The Link Mtn-man gave to claytargetsonline is your best source. click on the listed ranges and it will tell you if it is open to non-members and offers trap, sporting clays or both.

I like to shoot sporting clays vs. trap

Barnsley Gardens is to expensive although it is a very scenic place. I don't like to pay more than about $35.00 per 100 clays and $6.00 per box of Shells

It's a matter of degrees

Went up to Barnsley Garden Resort today to check it out. In one word, AWESOME. It is a little on the expensive side though. I got lucky and was invited to tag along with a group of six guys shooting. I didn't shoot. I just watched, but I was impressed with the layout.

I've been out to Tom Lowe's before, but after seeing Barnsley Gardens it would be a bit of a let down. Plus, Tom Lowe's doesn't have Sporting Clays.

The real bummer is I can't use my own shotgun because they require steel shot and that would not be good for my Improved Cylinder. I guess it's time to buy a new shotgun. Cool 3
