Spotted these in front of the Mercedes Dealer in Decatur on Sunday. At first I thought Mercedes had a new cross over (or whatever you call things like the Baja, and Avalanche) model out.

But once up close I saw that they were a custom job. Looks like they took an E320 stretched it, added a bed, and a rear hatch window from a station wagon. The bed wasn’t done very well, whatever body compound they used was in about 3-4 different shades of gray. Some of the hardware on the rails is rusting already, and the trim along the top edge was coming up and bubbled in many places. Not exactly fine German car quality.

They took out the regular back bench seat and put stock front seats back there along with a modified to fit front center console between them.

They didn’t have any information posted on them regarding what they were called or a price and they were closed at the time. So just for the heck of it I called that dealership yesterday just to see how much they were asking for those… those… uh things!

The salesman was actually very informative and said that it started out as a Mercedes E320 Station wagon and was sent back to Germany to have the conversion added by a customization company there. Apparently everyone that works there refers to them as ElCaminos as well!

Ready for the price?

Better be sitting down!

They want $139,000 for them! I think they might be sitting there for a while!

I wonder how much it would cost if they did a good job on the bed? Confused

Ok...check out some of these vechicles that have been modified. I know the name of the site sounds bad, but if you read the reason it is named this posted on the homepage, it fits. Here's the url: Molested Cars
