. . . without a cache. |
I've a dear friend that I've known all my life except for four days. My mother and I were leaving the hospital just as his was arriving with him on board. We grew up living across the street from each other and have kept in touch through thick, thin, marriages, divorces, and whatever came along. We're closer than a lot of brothers are.
The thing is that he is not exactly the brightest bulb in the pack. His nickname is Triple D as his first name starts with a D and the full nickname is D*** Dum Dum. Before you say that that isn't nice, he's cool with it and even uses tripled@ (something) as his email address. I'm not the brightest bulb either, but he does do some things at times that make one dent one's forehead. Below is a true story of one such occasion. Please feel free to post your own humorous anecdote if you wish. Triple D drove his family to the grocery store just as he had done many times before. Upon arrival at the store he switched off the car. Problem was, the radio kept playing. He messed with the radio's on/off switch for awhile but the radio kept playing. He pulled the radio's fuse from the fuse panel but the radio kept playing. He pulled the knobs off the radio, unscrewed about a dozen screws, pulled the radio out of the dash, and disconnected the power connector and the radio kept playing. By this point he was bumfuzzled. Then, he looked in the backseat and spotted the portable radio that his son had left playing. Happy New Year! --------------------- Live Well, Harm None |
