Does anyone remember "The World of Sid and Marty Krofft"? It was an amusement park that was (briefly) located in the Omni International back in 1976. I remember going there with my family when I was 12 y.o. but we didn't take any pics and apparently neither did any of the other 300,000 or so folks that visited because I'm unable to locate a single image of the place. I searched Google until it began to approach the level of a DOS attack and all I could come up with is this souvenir map showing the layout and a couple of youtube vids where it's visible in the background for just a second or two. Vid 1 Vid 2

Did anybody here happen to visit and do you have any pictures you could scan and share with me?

I remember it, never went to it when it was open, I remember going to the Omni Hotel and seeing the really long escalator, but it was blocked off since it was closed.

Was there when it was open, never went in and didn't take pics. They turned it into an ice rink after a fairly short period of time. Now it's just a food court.

Was in there a couple of weeks ago during the car show, but didn't notice whether that big escalator was still there or not.

Well per wikipedia the escalator is now used to shuttle guests to the entrance of the CNN studio tour.

I remember The World of Sid and Marty Krofft as I remember Rich's Pink Pig downtown: very vaguely.

I never had the opportunity to visit the place but find it sad that no records exist. I guess before digital photography and the internet all you'd have are the unshared photos taken by those who did visit the place. Maybe the public library or the Atlanta History Center would be a resource, albeit not an online one.

There was a Sid and Marty Kroftt festival in NYC much like the Sci Fi Conventions everywhere, but smaller last year. My son is a graduate Student in Fine Arts at Hunter in NYC and attended. He was a "Pufinstuff" fan when he was a kid and we went to the venue in Atlanta several times.
