Hi all,

I am new to the forum and I need some help. A few years ago I came across a site that had information about a person who attempted to have a hiking stick complete the Appalachian Trail. It was very similar to a travel bug--there were post cards attached to the stick that would help the owner track the progress of the stick. The stick even earned a trail name, 'Slim.' It took a while, but it finaly made it! Unfortunately, the website no longer works, however I have the original link:

There was an article that was on that site that I am trying to get a copy of. I think that it was back from 2001.

Does anyone know what I am talking about? If so, can you please let me know how to either contact the person who sent the stick on its way or knows the local paper that posted this article?
