After spending the morning caching with Professor Shorthair I found out he and his blues/jazz band was playing at one of my favorite restaurants near my home. I had no idea what a great musician he was. My wife and I really enjoyed him (Sax and keyboard). If any of you have a chance to hear him and like jazz and blues, by all means do so.

When worlds collide....

I usually keep all my different lives separate, but for any Atlanta area geocachers who want to check out my musical life, my next two public gigs (excluding private functions not open to the public) are:

Saturday, October 25, 8:30-11:30: Swing dance with Standard Deviation (jazz/swing) at the Pine Lake clubhouse, Pine Lake (near GC1ETAJ ). A swing dance lesson will be given at 7:30.

Saturday, November 8, 7:30-11:30: Little Alley, Roswell with The Boomers (jazz, blues, and rock). This is my 50th birthday, and I plan on having fun.

In the music biz, as in life, nothing lasts forever. The Boomers gig at Little Alley on November 8 has been canceled, as have all of our future appearances at Little Alley. C'est la vie....

Bummer - Now I have two questions:

1) What WILL you do to celebrate your birthday, and;

2) Do you have details on the gig at Pine Lakes? I might like to go.

Anyone else interested?

Cache, responsibly.....

I'm not sure what I'll be doing in the evening - I was really looking forward to playing some loud blues with a bunch of friends in the audience. In the afternoon, though, I hope to see a lot of you at my 50th Backwards Birthday Bash flash mob event.

Pretty much all I know is what I posted above. It's a swing dance tomorrow from 8:30 to 11:30 PM at the Pine Lake Clubhouse - 459 Pine Lake Dr. I played a dance there once before, and it's pretty friendly and casual. If you don't want to dance you can sit and listen. It's a good band with an amazing piano player (not me - I'll be on saxophones) and a good jazz singer. I assume there is an admission charge, but I can't imagine that it would be very much. There will be a casual, no-pressure swing dance lesson at 7:30. I'd love to see you there.

Well, I have to say that I did attend and had a great time. I was even persuaded to dance a few times although I am not really a "dancer."

Jeff is really great on the sax and vocals, as well.

Thanks, Muse. You looked pretty good out on the dance floor.

Just saw the Little Alley gig was cancelled. That's a real bummer. I was really looking forward to the evening.
BTW, Congrats on your 1400th find.
