I would like yo blow up some of my pictures from my trip out West so that I can put them on my wall. I was wondering what is the largest print size I can make a 5 megapixel photo?
I understand that I could make it as big as I want, with the bigger the pic the more grainy and pixelated it would be. So anybody know the answer or could point me in the right direction. And also does anyone know of a good photo shop near midtown that could do said photo enlargements? There is supposed to be a Wolf here in Atlantic Station but it just says coming soon. Thanks in advance! Happy Hunting! -Amazingracer It's about who controls the information Marty! |

Well according to http://cameras.about.com/cs/choosingacamera/a/megapixels.htm a 5 megapixel image can be blowed up to a very good 8x10 and a decent 11x14.
Now my personal experience with my cameras is that how good the enlargement is also depends on the software used to create the "higher" resolution image. If software is "smart" enough it will enlarge then smooth the edges. This allows a larger image to still look good. By using Image Composer to enlarge images, I got good 8X10's off my old 2.5 megapixel camera and great 8x10's off my my 4 megapixel camera. But with 5 megapixels you should be ok up to 8X10 no matter what software you use. ----- |
