The GGA will be sponsoring a booth on April 12th at the Volksmarch event in Helen, GA. Since this is considered a commercial event we can’t have an official geocaching event for this. However, several of us will be at the booth and out helping others find the several new caches in the Helen area (many thanks to phat.bak). Also, the monthly GGA meeting will be at nearby Unicoi State Park from 2-4. So stop by (the booth will be up from 10 – 4) and say “Hey” and find out about the new caches in the area.

While the booth at the Volksmarch event in Helen didn’t draw the intended crowd, we had a great turnout of volunteers. I want to thank everyone who came out to help spread the word about geocaching:
Geomuse & minimuse
Erik & Carol
Bad Dawg
Trez
Phat.bak

Special thanks to phat.bak for placing caches in Helen in anticipation of the hoards of new cachers (even though they never materialized). Also, special thanks to geomuse, minimuse and Carol for being such good sports when the rest of us abandoned them to go search for some caches in the mountains.

Just a note to say that Mertat did a fantastic job organizing and bringing it all together. We owe her a special thanx for making us look good.
And thanx to all for the kind words on some of my local caches (that got hit pretty hard this weekend) hidden for your amusement.
I think I had more fun than anybody and didn't even find a cache. That's what it is all about.

The day was great! We all had a great time. I got to cache a bit and also tell a bit about geocaching to a few folks ! minimuse slept the entire way home, so that was spectacular! Thanks to all for their patience with minimuse and enjoyed visiting with all!

I'll add my thanks to Mertat for organizing this. Great job!

Sorry we missed the last of the GGA meeting, but by the time we started our lunch at about 3pm we realized there was just no way to squeeze more into a day. ~erik~
