OK, I posted this in the GC forums without much response. So, I'm hoping to get a little extra help here...

quote:
I am to do a presentation to my son's class this coming Thursday. I will be doing a PowerPoint presentation and then a little geocaching activity on the school grounds. I've already started working on the PPT and have already set up the layout of the cache course.

If any of you already have PPTs put together that you could send to me, I'd really appreciate it. It would sure cut down on the time it takes for the creative process if I could just copy some ideas/slides.

If you'd like to help, you can email your PPT to me at btNOSPAMouch@yahoo.com. (Just remove the NOSPAM from the email address)

Thanks in advance,
Billy

In the past few months I've been thinking about some PPT slides but have not done any. I don't know who has. I had been thinking about this weekend's paperless caching in a powerpoint format but I don't think I can get it in time. I don't think anyone in the GGA has done anything like that before.

Thanks mtn-man. Looks like I'll be pulling an all-nighter. Haven't done that since college!

Anyway, I'll send you a copy of what I get done. Maybe it'll be helpful to somebody.

BTW, I've already spend about 8 hours putting this thing together on my home PC. I don't have a laptop so I was intending to use the school's. It turns out they aren't running Office 2003 and that's what I put the PPT together in! If I can't get this PPT to convert backwards to PPT 2000 I've just wasted 8 hours! Crying

Btouch, I did a search on "powerpoint" on the Groundspeak forums and came up with THIS. Take a look -- there's at least one presentation in history. I see you posted a request there, but you might try emailing the two or three that say they have presentations. They may not directly check the old topic on the forums.

G'luck!

This thread in the Groundspeak forums asks pretty much the same question.

Several people there have offered presentations that you might be able to make use of. I see you posted in it, but there are some posts after yours.

I've slapped together a presentation on both Geocaching and GPS. You can find it here.
Please direct email me with your critiques and suggestions.

Rebel, I like it. It is a very good summary.

I like it - very professional. If you wanted to expand it you could add some "sales stuff" about geocaching, types of caches, example locations, why people geocache, Geocaching.com info, etc. But I suppose that would depend on your audience and objectives. As is, its a good concise summary.

I can't claim full authorship as I gathered the info from a lot of places. I did edit it and put the presentation together, however.

I plan on using it in conjunction with the brochure available from Geocacher University (Adobe Acrobat format.) The two together should get the info across.
