Hello Georgia!

Someone on the groundspeak forums suggested that I post here and ask my question.

I have a travel bug (Cultured Pearls) in the hands of a cacher in Dallas, GA. Their user name is Shin-Ra. According to their profile, they are delivery drivers for Papa Johns Pizza in Dallas. They haven't replied to emails asking to send it on, so I'm wondering if anyone in the GGA knows these guys (or got them started geocaching).

I suppose I could call Papa Johns Pizza and ask for one of them by name but that might freak them out. I'll hold on to that as a last resort. Besides, that's almost crossing the line of taking travels too seriously.

Cheers

-E

Sorry to hear of your lost bug. "Shin-Ra" isn't a member of the GGA, but still might be known by someone.

FWIW, I had a bug to missing for over 8 months and then it started moving again. Weird thing was that when it did move, it only went 8 miles down the road.

Good luck!

See ya on the hunt!

What was there real names again ??

Maybe somebody in the Dallas area can order a pizza from Papa Johns and when they deliver it corner them about getting you bug moving again.

Are there any GGA members in the Dallas area that may be able to help out with this situation ??

I know the feeling on travel bugs.
Do not fret, for someday they will emerge. (i have those out and about)
I myself have had problems in areas of bad email and/or negative emails/comments, but it works out.

Group here in Georgia will guide you, on your way.

They are the best.

Travel bugs mean little compared to the laugh of a child or a letter from an old friend, but they are part of our existence, nonetheless. If my travel bug is lost, I will not stay awake at night wondering where it is--I will simply launch another.

I recently had one come home after a 3,500 mile trip, so I was doing some accounting on the others that are lost. I would like to have this one get started again, because it was quite active, but I won't start hunting these guys if it doesn't. I'll just boycott Papa John's. Smile

Peace be with you all.

Did Longfellow write that? Seriously, it's very poetic. Smile

I've launched five travel bugs and each one has gone MIA. One made it to Alaska, but never returned. Hopefully others have had better luck with their travel bugs.

I manage that sometimes. Entirely spontaneous.

The good news is that my travel bug has moved on. Whether it was timing, someone contacting them, or maybe just the end of semester tests. Whatever the cause, I'm grateful.
