I am posting this message about the removal of Island Hooper II from it's cache site, per the request of the Corps of Enginners.

Trez,
Island Hopper II was removed from the lake today (2/21). There were actually 15 great blue herons on the island today. This really reaffirms my thoughts that it is the right decision to remove this cache so the birds can breed and nest undisturbed.

If you would like to come and pick his cache for him, you're free to do so. I would also appreciate it if you post something on the Georgia Geocachers page or geocaching.com about its removal. Our address here is 1050 Buford Dam Rd, I am sure you know how to get here.

Thanks,

If Black Knight would answer the email. He is quite busy and from what I understand only has time to answer Military email. I will give him a call and let him know to go by and get it.

I had this one on my list to do when I take the Sunbird out when it warms up a bit. Am planning to do a 'hydro-cache-a-thon' and catch a bunch of water-only caches on the south end of the lake. (I might be looking for a couple of deckhands to accompany).
Sorry to see that it has been pulled, but I agree with the reasoning wholeheartedly.

That's an offer I can't refuse. I guess it pays to know someone's weakness. Hehe
Now I know who will be taking 'point'.

That would be great if you could get in touch with him. They were not mad (no fines or anything) but did want to get the cache removed.

Boat trip!
Um... me, me, me, me!!!!

I just hope phat.bak doesn't leave me somewhere out there if I do get to go.

Enough with this begging stuff. I willing to pony up some loot to trade for a boat ride. I do have a nice collection of VooDoo Dolls. Maybe we can make a deal! Up To No Good Sneaky

O. K. I will offer the Queen Mary a.k.a.Sea Witch for this outing, I took her out of mothballs today to catch up with Ranger Ryan.

I then ran over and did his Safety Stache. It is full of goodies just waiting to be plundered matie. ARRRRRRR.

Phat.BaK... you set the date. Any other boat owners want to join the regatta?

I'll bring my canoe and we can make excusions. This could shape up very well into a hydro-cache experience. I'll see if a certain Cajun Cacher (CJ) is interested.

Just give me at least a little advance notice, and please, put it on a Saturday. Smile

I must warn you that it's been a long, dry winter, though. Wink

And depending on where the hydra's are/where the craft are allowed: I have 2 waverunners - one 2-man (rides 1 comfortably) and one 3-man (2 comfortably).

Of course, water temp would have to be warmer to take these things out though!

Otherwise, I'd love to hitch a ride with someone else!
