The December 2006 meeting of the Georgia Geocachers Association was held December 9, 2006, at the Golden Corral Restaurant on Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw, Georgia from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. As has been the December tradition of the GGA this was not a regular meeting but a holiday breakfast giving the members a chance to spend the whole meeting time socializing and getting to know new members in attendance. Once more as in past years an inordinate amount of bacon was consumed. Even though the meeting officially began at 9:00 AM there were a number of members making their second visit to the buffet prior to 8:30 AM.
It was difficult to get an exact count of the total number in attendance. Once more those eating filled every table in the room. With those tables filled some members ate in the adjoining dining room, but everyone was quick to be on their feet and visiting once the eating was over. It appears there were in excess of 80 people present. Forty-eight (48) present GGA members signed in under forty-four (44) different geonicks. Eleven (11) new members of the GGA were in attendance at their first meeting under ten (10) geonicks. Coin enthusiasts were able to take the opportunity to make trades and there were also a number of travel bugs to be picked up. A drawing was held for the those members attending their first GGA meeting, and Cache Lady won a silver GGA Geocoin as the prize. Following the meeting most members headed off to search for caches in the area. |
