July 2008 GGA Meeting Notes
The July 2008 Georgia Geocachers Association meeting took place in middle Georgia at the Museum of Aviation in Warner Robins. This was a great setting for the meeting and there was plenty of time to explore the museum and grounds afterwards. We counted a total in attendance of 40 which included 6 new members under 5 geonicks and 34 old members. Tarvol lead the meeting with a talk about geocaching basics and obtaining good coordinates. This was a very informal setting and we had a lot of lively audience participation with comments and questions about finding appropriate locations for caches, how to mark your containers, and maintaining your caches. We also discussed logging etiquette for caches, travel bugs and coins. During the break, Tarvol sent us off into the museum to find two members of the Georgia Air Hall of Fame. Dr. Mole was the first-to-find and won a GGA geocoin. Then we had the requisite raffle of valuable donated items and cache swag. Thanks to those who contributed to the raffle, and to those who put a few dollars in the “Cash Cache” to help with the room rental. Compiled by: Mertat This message has been edited.
