The April, 2008, GGA Meeting was held at Unicoi State Park just north of Helen, Georgia on April 12, 2008. 58 people took part in GGA events in the Helen area on this day. In addition to the regular GGA Meeting at Unicoi GGA members manned a table promoting geocaching and the GGA at the Volksmarch Festival in Helen. Attending the meeting at Unicoi were 14 new members under 11 geonicks and 31 old members under 29 geonicks.

Alan Lacy presented an informative talk on caching in the North Georgia Mountains which included safety and preparedness tips. Mtn-man gave a report to the meeting on GGA finances. The new GGA Banner was unfurled for its first meeting. The GGA now has two banner for use which on this day allowed us to have a banner on display at both the Volksmarch Festival and the GGA Meeting. Thanks goes to Mtn-man for doing the leg work to get the new banner produced. Following a raffle of numerous items there was ample opportunity for everyone to visit and meet new members before heading off to look for area caches. Thanks also goes to Phat-bak for placing some new caches in the area for those attending. Special thanks goes to Mertat for taking on the job of arranging the GGA Meeting and the participation in the Volksmarch Festival.
