Recovering Geocacher

In April we replaced out monthly GGA Meeting with the traditional April CITO (Cache in – Trash out) event at Tribble Mill Park in Grayson. Rather than holding the event on the normal second Saturday of the month we waiting until the third – April 22nd, to be in sync with similar events all over the country.
We choose a rainy day to restrict attendance to the diehard geocachers, and quite a number showed up. Actually the event was planned long before the weatherman planned the weather, and the rain stopped within 5 minutes of the 10am starting time and restarted only after the CITO event concluded. The attendance roster showed 26 present members signed up under 22 geonicks, and another 9 new members signed up under an additional 8 geonicks. The link below shows most of the participants, as well as two truck load beds filled with garbage.

In addition to picking up trash the participants competed for a drawing of two valuable geocoins, and had a fun time socializing.
Great job on trash pick-up by those who participated! If you were unable to join us we hope you were able to help out at one of the other CITO events held in the state that day.

Our next monthly meeting will be held May 13th at Sloppy Floyd State Park a bit north of Rome. Details here:
