This evening at the Columbus City Council meeting the Chattahoochee Valley Cachers were honored with a Proclamation in which Mayor Poydasheff declared December 5, 2006 Chattahoochee Valley Cachers Day in Columbus. Mayor Poydasheff stated that because of ordinary citizens working together, such as ourselves, is what makes Columbus a great city. He thanked us for volunteering our time to improve the community. He said we should all be proud of the work we accomplished.
The group was recognized for their work with Columbus Parks & Rec, Columbus Consolidated Government GIS division, Boy Scouts and Big Bothers Big Sisters.
There were seven cachers in attendance to represent the group - Dreamland, TGBear, Cheefy, MikeGolfJ3, GoBobGo, Webster256 and his wife. Dreamland was given the honor of accepting the Proclamation and speaking on behalf of the group.
