The Chattahoochee Valley Cachers were asked to give a geocaching presentation at the Columbus Consolidated Government GIS day on Thursday October 12, 2006. This cache commemorates the event.

It is also a goodwill cache. The Major of the Sheriff’s office gave permission to place a temporary cache at the government center for the event. Given the opportunity to meet with the Sheriff’s department a couple cachers went and explained geocaching and provided information and maps to the Sheriffs. They were very supportive of geocaching in the city of Columbus. To show this we have been given permission to hide a container on the grounds of the government center.

The Major asked that all containers hidden in the Columbus and surrounding areas be marked appropriately as a geocache and contain contact information.

The cache GCZJB4 has been submitted on geocaching.com and waiting approval.
