There's a Dollar Tree next door to the chinese buffet I go for lunch sometimes. A coworker (Magellean user) picked up a package of small suction-cup hook things that are to be attached to a flat surface and hang stuff.
Well, we experimented, and there's just enough hook to hang the Rino by the hole created by the antenna connector rubber. Holds pretty well I might add. I've got it on the left side of my windshield, and when it hangs it's just below eye level. I'm still adjusting the height.
So, if you don't have one, the package of 6 hooks cost him a buck. Garmin and associated retailers want $25-$30 for their hanger. I gave him $0.25, and it's working great.

I already have one of the Garmin ones but thanks for the suggestion. I'll keep it in mind if ever forget to pack the Garmin and need something in an emergence. I don't remember what I paid for the Garmin one but it was a good price at Target.
Also make sure it's very secure. It's good to have it be in the "line of sight" but be sure it's not in the "path of sight" in the event of an accident.

It's stable, because the radio antenna jams up against the cup itself.. Once I have it on there, it doesn't move very much at all until I hit a pothole or bump or whatnot.
That said, I'm sure it'd fly off quite easily if I was in a front-end collision of any sort.

We picked up a flat rubber looking thing at either walmart or a dollar store. It lays on you dash and then you lay the cellphone or GPS on it. My husband loves it and it works well, I'll ask him when he get's home where we found it and what it is called and post it here.

Went back to the same dollar store a week or so ago and got the larger suction cup hooks - 4 for $1 of course. This works even better. More hook = more for the Rino to hang from, and I don't think I'd fly off. Still pretty steady/stable, though it does yaw a bit when I go into a more-than-gentle turn at high speeds.
As of yet, cup has yet to remove from windshield (i've been tugging it occasionally - it's stuck), and the Rino has never even thought about coming off unless I do it myself. A tad more room for the FRS antenna as well, so it's not as "squished."
