As some of you may be aware, spamming attacks on the forums have increased significantly over the past couple of weeks. In one instance a new account posted 18 new spam topics in 11 minutes. In an effort to curb these attacks, the SC has decided to implement manual approval for new members. In addition, we are requiring that everyone enter your GC.com profile URL into your GGA profile – this will help us identify legitimate new members as they sign up. However, this requirement has to be made across the board, so if you don’t have a GC.com profile URL listed in your profile, you will be required to enter it when you log in.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience but believe it will help cut down on the spam attacks in the future.

I have temporarily turned the profile URL requirement off since I did not realize it would be a global change. My goal was to hit new registrants trying to spam our forums. We will continue with the manual approval queue though.
