Georgia Geocachers Assn - March 2007 Meeting Will be held at the Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center in Columbus, GA. Food and drink will be provided, so come hungry. We’ll hear about the history of Oxbow and about an eco-tourism project between the Chattahoochee Valley Cachers and RiverWay South. Plus, there will be tours on the Treetop Trail if you are interested. We are asked to RSVP in our ‘will attend’ log entries if we would like to take that tour. APRIL - Two GGA Events
The first event occurs on the 14th, which is on our normal meeting date, but this IS NOT the monthly meeting. This will be a (CITO) Cache In Trash Out Event instead. So come help us clean up some trails and the park area at our 2007 CITO Event. See:Georgia Geocachers Assn 2007 CITO Day Event The second event will take place on the 21st and is two fold. A volunteer activity followed by our GGA April meeting. Our volunteer opportunity will be with the Elachee Nature Center to help celebrate Earth Day 2007 by handing out information on the Nature Center and Geocaching from 10am - 1pm. Come out and help us promote this great park and the sport of Geocaching if you can. The Second part will be our GGA April meeting from 2pm - 4pm. One program will be on 'The Hiking Stick'. Please bring your hiking stick(s) to this meeting for everyone to see and appreciate. Better yet, make one! We encourage you to create a hiking stick and bring it to the meeting. Whether the one you create is just for laughs or one you'll hand down through generations, show us your creation. Georgia Geocachers Assn - May 2007 Meeting
The May 12, 2007 meeting will be at the Rocky Mountain Recreation and Public Fishing Area in the Coosa Valley area. The speaker for the event will be Brian Tant, aka GeorgiaHikes, who will be talking about Leave No Trace Ethics. Note: Parking is $3 / car. The ticket machine only takes one dollar bills or change so come prepared.
