I'm sorry. I did not think it would get existing users of the forums. I hoped it would only get new people trying to register. The spamming is getting worse and worse so it was time to get more aggressive with them.

Tarvol mentioned that he could not see the profile link box in Firefox. Since I did not know it would affect existing users, I have made that setting "optional" instead of "required" again. Rather than have more existing users getting frustrated with a surprise of this nature, I would rather turn it off for the time being.

We are still manually reviewing all new people who register. That should stop the people that are registering and posting spam until we boot them. In the past, all you had to do was register on our board and you were automatically allowed to post. Spam has been moved to a hidden deleted content forum for a while, but it has been coming in waves over the past couple of weeks. We are tired of it and we are going to end it.

For those who had difficulty after lunch today, I hope you no longer have any issues.

To get there so you can copy it, click the "My Account" button on the GC.com web site. On the upper right, you will see your stats button. It looks like ParentsofSAM's stats button in their signature line at the bottom of their post.

Click on that button and you will go to your profile page. Just copy the link from there, just as ~erik~ did.

When did they disable the automatic playing of wav files on the profile pages? Mine doesn't play anymore ...

In order to increase website security, all scripts were stripped from the GC.com profile pages a couple of months ago.

Just checking in from SO long ago. Miss you all greatly.
