I've heard there will be some kind of announcement at the Kolomoki Mounds State Park on May 14.

Seems kinda right, since the State Parks are so kind to us at Skidaway Island

In the Newnan times today there was an article about the big event at Kolomoki mounds where the DNR and the GGA are having their meeting. Free food, caching and a "poker run".

I'm also hearing of something that the Going Coastal team is working on for that meeting.

I couldn't find the article on the paper's site, so if you would like to read it the old fashion way, here is a scan of it.

Come out and see a sneak preview of Going Coastal 2011 at Kolomoki Mounds! We'll have Going Coastal merchandise, free stuff, and donation cards to buy for the drawing for a $500 gas card. We'll have a special presentation and unveiling of the innovative new cache-card signature items.

Is this the first time that candidates have campaigned in public? Will phat.bak be asking any questions for the candidates?

Public execution elocution is a good thing! Yes, all 12 event pages are up. Hold your fire on the questions about meal prices and such until the website goes public, which should be sometime in December. Or maybe tonight. Sneaky

Rest assured the crew is doing everything possible to keep food costs at a minimum. Room prices have been negotiated much lower than last year, too.

Did anyone get a hotel room block discount? Is this info on the event page?

Don't say you can't, say you'll try.

The www site is being worked on as we speak. When we feel that we are ready to go live and make a test run, we find a glitch and the professional designer's are called back in. In the past week several hours have been spent on the site and with more information coming in about the different activities, more pages are added and updated. The www site will be up and ready in plenty of time to reserve your Going Coastal merchandise, special offers and other valuable information for the event. Thanks for your patients.
