Biggest Geocacher in Atlanta? Georgia?

Geocacher
Posted
Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone knows who the biggest geocacher is in the greater Atlanta area.

This can be divided into a couple different questions...

i.e. Who has the most finds?
Who encapsulates the true image and culture of geocaching?

I look forward to your responses!

Interesting question. Depends on the definition of "geocacher". These categories come to mind:

  • most finds
  • most hides - quality hides of course Wink
  • best puzzle maker*
  • best puzzle solver
  • most creative container maker
  • best log writer
  • most time volunteered to promote/support the game

* some would deduct points for this I think Laughing

Very evocative responses! In retrospect, realize now what an involving question it is.

To WakeboardLanier's categories, I was initially going for a simple quantitative answer (i.e. who has the most finds). It appears that Smiling at Acworth is #2. Anyone know #1?

In a more broad sense, when you think of the ultimate geocacher in Atlanta, is there a specific individual who comes to mind?

(I'm from California, and I'm just getting my feet wet caching around here.)

#1 lives in Middle GA, about five miles from me...not greater Atlanta.

I read the question as: "Who has found the most caches in Georgia?" Then number one lives in Acworth, and the number one that Tarvol is referring to is not ranked.

The Hobos, who are ranked, live just south of Byron.

My GPSr is Trans-Portable and has a Ford Ranger mounted to it.

This is easy, Maviman. He can find caches when he not even looking.

Don't know where you got that from...you'd better go look at the rankings...not that they mean anything...."the numbers don't count"... Big Grin

Okay, then, since were not talking numbers, and the questions is "Biggest Geocacher in Atlanta? Georgia?", maybe I am the biggest cacher.

I go 250, anyone bigger than me?

285, sadly.

I'm not overweight. I'm undertall.

Lakebum, sorry but I've got you beat by about 20 pounds(unfortunately!) I'm hoping I don't get to the "300" class anytime soon, since I'm only 5'7 and I don't want to look any more like a beach ball than I already do! Smile

* waves to GGA message board users and tips hat in thanks to whomever "let me in"
