AG, the CITO with the Army Corps that is posted is our CITO....the page is to be adopted by us but there have been problems getting that accomplished because the person from the Corps has been out of town.

Closer to me is the CITO at FDR State Park....RangerSam asked for some help on how to organize a CITO which we provided. We also offered to cosponsor it with him if he wished but he has chosen to do so alone, and we have offered to provide assistance to him in any way we can. I contacted TGBear and asked that she promote attendance at it by the Chattahoochee Valley Cachers since they are close to it. She has done so on their Yahoo site and the Chattahoochee Valley thread on these forums. We are excited that RangerSam has gotten permission from his superiors to place caches in the park. As of now only he has permission to place them, but the great trail caches Pine Mountain Trek placed by Phillips4 will continue to be there.

Ok, I just went and saw it. I'll be out of state that weekend and it doesn't look like SC is having any CITOs that weekend. Oh well.

AG, over the last several years since we quit tying the Earth Day Cito to the GGA meeting but started setting it as a separate event, we have tried to encourage other CITO's around the state whether we sponsored them or not....I guess this started in 2005 when Ainsley & Captain sponsored one in Albany and the official GGA Cito was in extreme (sorry for the adjective)[Big Grin] northeast Georgia. This was supposed to be my first official GGA meeting as a SC member. Rebel (who was also on the SC) and I ended up attending the Cito in Albany... I missed my first GGA meeting as a SC member (by the way, haven't missed one since)....but the great thing is that now we are promoting Cito's all over Georgia on Earth Day.....Right now there are four scheduled....the one with the Army Corps at Lake Lanier.....the one at FDR State Park being held by RangerSam....one in Savannah being held by Johann Panholtz.....and one in Thomson being held by the South Carolina Geocachers (by the way they did ask our permission to hold an event in Georgia, which we appreciate and willingly gave). Bottom line is when it comes to Cito's, it doesn't matter whose name is on it....we all (as geocachers) get credit with the people that know about it. Big Grin

I got the adoption request and it did not take. I've seen that before. I wrote to Groundspeak on Friday to get them to push it through.

Ahhh, I see it has been done. Nice!

Please note that I have made major changes to the cache page, including the location we will meet at. It is just around the corner, but offers much more parking. We will use Toto Creek Access for our staging area and will do some clean up in that park as well.

Hope to see a bunch of you at 10AM on Saturday!
