A little over a year ago, James released a travel bug in Rope Mill Park - called "Fishy". http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=667367

In December, I released another travel bug, this time, at my childhood home in Chelsea, Quebec, Canada.http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=1250516

James' bug has been to Hawaii and back to the west coast - Seattle.

My bug hung around my hometown for a while, and one of the cachers I met back home, took my bug to... Seattle.

I wondered if the bugs would "meet up".

Well yesterday they both turned up at the same event cache! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=...3b-818c-b3573b5b001f

What are the odds of that happening?!

That is really cool. I actually picked Fishy up a little over a year ago in Peachtree City and passed it along. I enjoyed reading about it's travels. Glad Fishy is still swimming around.

Yep, Rolling Stone, that was just a few days more than a year ago. Fishy went to Hawaii... then somebody brought him all the way back to Seattle.

Funny enough, the people who brought Fishy to Seattle, picked up Ladybug at that event.

Nobody has grabbed Fishy out of the event yet - curious to see where he goes next.

My daughter set a bug loose the same day as Fishy - but hers has only gone about 61 miles. Fishy has over 8000 miles and Ladybug has over 2000 miles in just 3 months. Her bug, Odd Purple Sock has been in the Starr's Mill cache for a while but somebody finally retrieved it yesterday. It has been stuck in the same area for close to a year now - every few months it moves to another cache not too far from the last one. It's only moved about 20 miles or so in its last 5 stops.

I set another one loose from the same park as those 2, one week before Fishy and Sock... it got as far as Virginia Beach and then a newb picked it up and never dropped it off... she said something about her son taking it out of state when he went to his father's - needless to say I doubt I'll see that one again.

It's great when they don't get lost - I've seen bugs that have been circulating for several years.

I just thought it really interesting that my 2, with very different missions, and 9 months and 900 miles between release dates/places, ended up in the same place, at the same time, 2100+ miles from my home!

That's a really great story. It's nice when good thinks happen with our travel bugs. Thanks for sharing!
