I have some friends who are interested in Geocaching and want me to introduce them to the sport. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on really good (fun, scenic, or well-placed) caches in the Newnan area?

Here's my opinion, for what it's worth...
I would take a new geocacher to A Safe Nook, Where's Waldo, Stage Fright, Walk This Way Again, and War Eagle. I think those caches are interesting and would give a new cacher experience with different size containers and different kinds of caches. None of them are too hard as far as terrain or difficulty, but each offer a good challenge. Good luck! |

R/S has some very good recommendations. And although "Fire in the Hole" is described as a learner's cache, it might scare away the newbie. I'd also recommend taking a look in nearby PTC - lots of variety at low difficulty levels with the scenic aspect around the lake and in the Line Creek nature preserve.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'd really like to stay around the Newnan area. I'd like to get a few more suggestions if anyone has any!

I know I already replied, but since you want more suggestions, here goes.....Geodemento, Car Wash Guy, or any of the Spirit of Independence caches. Those are a little more difficult than my original suggestions, but well worth the effort. There are also a few at the Coweta County Fairgrounds (ie Search Discover Share). It's a great area with nature trails. Very clean and nice. Newnan has some great caches. A couple of the most challenging, I think, are Fire in the Hole, Who Dunt It, and Odyssey to the Shenandoah Skylight. Hope this helps. Have fun and thanks for introducing some new cachers to Newnan.
