This leads me to think there may be a difference in the perspective of the NPS folks and some of the GGA members on what this clean-up is about. I think the GGA members are thinking in terms of removal of large heavy objects as well as cans and scraps of paper. You cannot lift a dryer or water heater with a pick-up stick! Does the NPS see this as light trash removal only? In order to get the big stuff out, we probably would need to take some GGA members' light trucks or other utilility vehicles down the old road. Is all of this clear with the NPS? Are there objects and areas they do not want us to disturb?

Sorry to not pipe in earlier - I was in New Jersey last week with such a sh*tty internet connection that keeping up with these forums wasn't possible. Don't ask how my one and only cache hunt went up there either.
I discussed with the NPS that we'd want to get vehicles back there to remove the large items like the clothes dryer, but I'm sure I'll have another chat about it with them before 4/26.
Those t-shirts sound cool. I nominate Allen to buy a hundred and sell them at cost at the next GGA meeting.

Well for an easier walk you could have done Davis Mill Cache afterwards. I think we can trust you not to take Mtn-man's Mystery prize. Anyway I think we could dig up another one if you want one.

I posted yesterday to that topic on the Groundspeak Forums that I thought the GGA would want some (look toward the bottom, 3-29 post). I will start a new topic and we can start getting a headcount.

As the event is getting closer is there any word on what kind of trash the NPS wants cleaned? As I said earlier, I will bring my truck and am willing to help with getting heavy stuff or light stuff or both. But would like to know what to expect.

Local Media suggestion; TV32. I'm sure anyone from the NE corner of Ga would have connections. TV32 is a CBS station and covers, well, NE Ga. I do know the Atlanta CBS station sometimes pick up their stories to run.
I delivered a framed phote of the clean up crew to Susan Joffre today. I shown it at the Georgia Geocachers Association 2003 June Mtg.. If you weren't there I posted a picture of the photo in my log.

Thanks for delivering the photo Allen. That was one classy looking framing/matting job you had done. And that brass GGA plaque really set it all off.
Did you get a chance to check out that huge log building they use for their meetings and for the superintendent's office? Pretty impressive. Our tax dollars at work.
