A friend gave me a page torn out of the September, 2007 issue of ATLANTA magazine (Sorry, no link available). The article, titled "Adventurer | Kimberly Turner tries things you probably haven't" describes hunting four geocaches near her home.
The article gives a description of the hunt, the cache, its contents (only half had a "Smiling In Acworth" wooden nickle), and what trade was made. The caches described are owned by Redworm, Professor Shorthair, Rixart, and one near Mason Mill Park that I couldn't quite identify (JB???). It's an interesting article and if anyone can find a link to the Sept '07 issue of "ATLANTA", please post it. |

I was reading the October issue of Georgia Trend today and came across an article titled "Lake Lanier Turns 50" on pages 76 and 77. It's the equivalent of a one page article and almost half of the article concerns geocaching on Lake Lanier with favorable comments from Michael Lapina, "the chief park ranger at Lake Lanier". Also says one of the caches contains 50th anniversary buttons. I looked for a link on Georgia Trend's web addition to post a link but could not find the article there. If you get the magazine or can pick up a copy, you might want to check it out.
