As you can see by my avatar I got a new Jeep Liberty 4x4 and can't wait to use it to help find some geocaches. "Home" "Town" View
by GA Cacher is the closest one to me that mentions ground clearance, but maybe someone who's been out there wheelin' can recommend some other tasty ones? |

Yowser - mighty fine ride!
Forbidden Forest II is a must do. (If you wait until AFTER it rains, the pleasure factor increases!) Ya gotta do the Rich Mountain Caches when it opens back up. It will 'test' your equipment, unless they smooth it out. Did those in my son's Wrangler and it was 'iffy' at times. I ain't bringing MY truck in there. Give the RedWine cache a shot also. You can also do Trez' virtual above Amicalola and take the road down from there. (I turned around) - - 4 legs good - 2 legs bad! - Animal Farm |

Phat.bak's right. The Rich Mountain caches will find out what you and your 4x4 are made of. For scenes of what you will find there, check out some of the pics in the logs.
I hope they open that road up again soon. I miss the fun. A geocacher's nighmare: able to find hundreds of hidden boxes all over the world, yet can only find one sock when unloading the clothes dryer. |

Oh man Forbidden Forest is a must do! I did it in my 2WD Blazer safely. It would probably be fun to finish out the rest of the road and cross the AT but that water crossing is AWESOME! Just look at the pictures on the cache page.

I think a road trip is in order. I need to get the truck off the pavement again.
My GPSr is Trans-Portable and has a Ford Ranger mounted to it. |

I hope it's okay to bring up an old topic, but this seemed like a good one.
I think I remember at one time a group of Ga Geocachers that owned 4WDs and would take new owners of 4WDs out caching and teach them a thing or two about driving on trails, hills, rocks, mud, etc. Is that offer still around? I hope so. Last week I finally got a Wrangler that I've wanted for years. This one is a '97 Wrangler Sahara, 5" lift, 35" tires, 5 speed, 6 cyl inline, and is in need of some off road driving. If you're up for some caching, and know a thing or two about off road driving, I'd love to learn. I live in Buford. Email me and we'll set up a trip! ---------------------------------------------------------------- "A noble spirit embiggins the smallest man." - Jebediah Springfield ---------------------------------------------------------------- |

May I suggest the Kache Visible on Mtn. cache which is barely across the NC/GA line has some decent 4 wheelin'. Also my Fires Creek cache has some mild 4x4 sections. Both are near Hayesville NC, which is just across the line.
