A Mothers Day tornado came through the woods where my State Quarter Depository cache is located. The cache is located in the original spot but I had to change the terrain and difficulty ratings to 5's.

If you are interested in a extremely difficult micro cache in some woods or would like to see 1st hand the devastation a tornado can do to woods then this cache might be for you.

There is also a geocache coin prize for the next person who finds this cache. This prize is valid even if you have previously found this cache (yes it's now that hard). See cache listing for details.

State Quarter Depository -- Extreme Tornado Cache --- GCHN3W

Good luck with this one roll on floor laughing

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! UUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!
My favorite cache in Georgia..........BUT....I never really wanted to go back...heck, I didn't want to go there the first time, but I did......and now you tell me it is worse???????????? I feel suddenly sick.............

I keep telling all the "wussies" from north of the Fall Line that they need to go after this one, but I haven't seen many takers and almost nil as finders...guess the mountains are easier to navigate....sorry fellows, but I borrowed the "wussies" from my good friend Rainbow...but if you don't try this one....you are.

Just to give you an idea of how bad it's gotten:

Me and Hawke went to check on it knowing the tornado went through the area. It should have taken us 10 mins but it ended up taking over an hour to find and we knew exactly where to look. I almost wrote it off as lost for ever -- but it's still there.

And we didn't even dare try to do maintenance on the Lure Exchange (a much easier cache in the same woods) --- I just disabled that one until the fall when the foliage dies off.

If you go hunt for this one be prepared Aw Nuts!

Can't imagine this one being "more difficult" ?!?! Allowing a tornado to do your "cache maintaince"?!? Leave it to CK & Hawke.

Would love to be a bug on a log when some of those north of the Gnat Line attempts this one!!! Sneaky

Me too. but only the day you gnat-backs even try the brain power + stamina it takes to conquer any of the starhopping Caches or rock Creek: Enigma... puzzles and elevation changes. Ooooor any of the caches on rich Mountain for that matter - Without a car... or Nacoochee's Revenge from the original non trail approach.

See I can be ugly too. I take this stuff personal guys. The Highway drives both ways. If I'm a "Wussie" all of you are as well...

Except for LZ33. He has no equal.

I like a little competion and definitely love a challenge, but I don't take to well to name calling and regional baiting. It may all be in fun, but it really is ugly.

This had been on my todo list for a while. When I was laid up last year, I made my list of caches I would like to do that would be challenging and fun and this one was on it. When I read the first post, my interest was piqued again. But Now with the trash talking, not anymore.

Annie don't play that, y'all.

Annie, nobody is trash talking and please don't take it that way. Those of us that have done this cache have had a lot of fun watching the reactions of people that go find it. Go read my log on this cache....I'm making fun of myself there....no one is trying or meaning to offend anyone....I can only imagine what the site looks like now but even without the tornado damage it is one of the best in the state. Go look for it and I promise that you will get a laugh out of it all when you find it. As recommended...don't go alone...call me and I'll meet you there.

I don't see how this is making fun of you.

Hmmm. Not sure how many Mountains there are where you live, I can see now where I was mistaken... (sarcasm).

My point is... We all live in Georgia, this is a very cache rich State. We have all kinds here. And with gas prices the way that they are people pick and choose the caches they want to do a lot more carefully than they used to. So when an interesting cache is placed, or there is a lot of Buzz around a cache, Interests get piqued. Like mine did last year. But all it takes is people pitting one geographical area against each other, by calling them wussies or the like, you just cast a negative light on the cache as well as the area.

I don't take the bait anymore when it's laid out like that. Unless it's put out there by LZ33 - because he has no equal. I'm sure I'm not alone.

In the infamous words of [The Great (sarcasm) and misunderstood (sarcasm)] Rodney King...

"Can't we all just Get Along???

Annie...go read my log on the cache page when I found the cache....yes, I was making fun of myself...this cache is over three years old...the word wussies came up in kidding each other over three years ago about this cache...everyone has had a good time kidding each other about it, if you are so offended by my words that were not intended to offend that you don't go looking for this cache, then it is your loss....in any event if you choose to hunt it, I will be happy to meet you there if you like.

Well, I’m not a professional on Fall lines or wussies but I do feel if USS Hillary was in the Atlantic off the coast of Virginia and USS Obama was in the Gulf of Mexico with orders to fire a bottle rocket that uses the billions of dollars worth of GPS technology that we use they both should hit the cache. John McCain shouldn’t have to call them up and tell them, “shoot many bottle rockets and widen your target area, it’s a five star.” Anyone for some Splenda?

Sorry, didn't mean to stir anything up.

I know a few people have it on their to-do list and wanted to give them a heads up before they spend the almost $4 per gallon to drive the distance.

Well Saturday after the GGA meeting in Warner Robbins, Thorny1 and I along with FatKidsotwunite spent time, sweat (you have seen T1 and my size)a bit of blood and needed a jar of After Bite from the fire ants.
We crawled moved dead brush, pushed back large fallen branches as best we could for until we ran out of light. No luck but we had a good time!
Heck it's a hard cache. We had 150 mile drive home for us and about 80 for FKOTWU to reflect. At $4 in my 17MPG SUV , and it was worth it.
Thanks for the challenge! I think we are going back!!! Thumbs Up
